Tubemogul Buys Illumenix

It sounds like an acquisition of comic book companies: "Tubemogul Acquires Illumenix" in order to take over the world. Well I don't know about taking over the world but this is certainly a step in the direction of giving Visible Measures a run for their money.

I think it's a very smart move for Tubemogul but what's really missing in the marketplace right now is a combined FLASH / Quicktime / Windows Media Player / Silverlight metrics standard that tracks all videos served on the planet.

The technology is there. Let's see who is able to get everyone on board and agree on standards that advertisers and content creators can use. Maybe by 2012?

3 TubeMogul Tips for SEO

http://1timstreet.com

Are you new to the online video game? Would some SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tips from Mark Rotblat of TubeMogul be of use to you?

Here's a video from the new offices of Tubemogul by Massimo Burgio from SMX London 2008 and a few tips:

1. Descriptions and Tags are very important. Use them.

2. Make sure you put your URL upfront in the description because the first couple of lines are often the only things that show. URLs in descriptions are often clickable and can get a 1% click through rate which is often higher than the click through rate of the ads around a video.

3.Put your most important TAGS in first and look to see how they show up on the different sites listed on Tubemogul as you enter them.

Tubemogul Launches MRSS Automated Video Upload Feature To Premium Products

Tubemogul launched a new feature for their MRSS video uploads, which is now part of their suite of Premium Products. Videos are automatically uploaded (and launched to video sites, depending on preferences) via a MRSS feed.

This should allow Tubemogul users who have hundreds of videos to be able to upload them at the same time.

Tubemogul Launches Marketplace for Online Video Producers and Advertisers

Today the leading online video super syndication/distribution analytics company Tubemogul launched a marketplace that is a dating site for online video content creators and advertisers complete with profiles, viewership statistics and more.

Right now the FREE Tubemogul Marketplace just covers stats of Flash videos but Tubemogul CEO Brett Wilson tells me that more features are on their way and may include the listing of Quicktime / downloadable stats as well.

I had a chance to speak with Brett about the launch of the Tubemogul Marketplace while I was at the New Media Expo in Vegas. After you watch that video be sure to see if your videos are already listed in the Tubemogul Top 40. If not you may want to set up a profile.

I'm very excited about Tubemogul launching this marketplace I think it will give brand marketers, advertisers and media buyers the statistics they need to make the right buys for the brands they represent and more importantly it will give independent content producers a fighting chance to be seen for the views they have and how they compare to cable TV views.

If only independent online video producers got paid cable TV CPM rates, our world would be a better place and here's out chance.

Thanks Tubemogul.

Hopefully other companies will follow your lead and we will see several companies competing the way text ads competed.

How Can You Organize Your Videos?

How Can You Organize Your Videos? from 1timstreet on Vimeo.

Say you have a Internet Webisode Series kind of thingy that you've posted on YouTube using a cool tool like TubeMogul. ( I ran into Brett Wilson today and he said the boys back at the shop read my blog so shout out to the TubeMogul guys!) Your Video is now everywhere and someone comes across episode 7 of one of your videos. How can they easily find the rest of your series in an orderly fashion?

Well, I ran into the guys at Unknown Vector at Digital Hollywood Building Blocks San Jose and they have a product called uvlayer. They told me that it will help people search and organize video content and share it with friends.

Stick to What You are Really Good At

TubeMogul is great at uploading videos and tracking the views of those videos across the internet for FREE.

They also have some great tips about making your video viral but when it comes to creating viral videos themselves they should leave it to the creative types like the Tracecats.

"How We Met" is a touching tale of stickman and stickwoman (drawn on bodies) and how the two lovers fell in love.

More info at: http://www.zoomintosee.com

The music is by Son of Dave.

And don't get me wrong, I love Brett Wilson and the guys at TubeMogul, you should sign up for their service, they just should hand their camera and editing equipment over to someone else for a while. ;)
